Pooya Naghshbandi is the Biotechnology Lead at Esencia Foods, a Berlin-based startup pioneering solid-state fermentation to create next-generation mycelium-based food alternatives. With a background in biotechnology and a passion for scaling sustainable food solutions, Pooya leads cross-functional teams focused on process innovation, IP management, and process scale-up. His current work centers on developing a flexible and efficient SSF platform, driving the technical innovations needed to scale mycelium biomass production for diverse food applications.
